NEW DELHI: Nagamangala, a town in Karnataka’s Mandya district, witnessed heightened tensions late Wednesday night as clashes broke out between two groups during the Ganpati Visarjan procession.
The clashes were triggered when stones were hurled at the procession, news agency PTI reported.
In response to the unrest, authorities have enforced Section 144 in the affected area to maintain law and order, which prohibits the assembly of four or more people in public places.
