NAGPUR: The Nagpur bench of Bombay HC Wednesday set a Friday deadline for Facebook to clear its stand on steps it would take to prohibit advertising and sale of Chinese manjha on its platform, reports Vaibhav Ganjapure. The bench’s oral directive came after the social media giant’s counsel, who joined the hearing through video-conferencing from Delhi, told the court its operations had shifted to Meta and that it was just an intermediary.
The court was hearing a suo motu PIL based on TOI and other media reports on the deaths of two youths, Pranay Thakre and Saurabh Patankar, in 2021, after Chinese manjha allegedly slit their throats.
