THANE: CM Eknath Shinde expressed surprise that assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar had dismissed the petition seeking disqualification of UBT Sena MLAs filed by his party and said he would seek legal opinion on pursuing the issue further, reports Manoj Badgeri.
Shinde was responding to queries on Thursday over Wednesday’s verdict on MLAs’ disqualification issue. “Our win is the victory of truth and is dedicated to Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, my mentor late Anand Dighe, and scores of Sainiks who stood by me. However, even as we were recognised as real Sena, we are surprised the Speaker dismissed our petition seeking disqualification of UBT MLAs,” Shinde said. He said the verdict is otherwise a milestone one and has come as a rap to those who have been running a political party as a private property.
