Kevin Owens had been hinting at an upcoming heel turn ever since Cody Rhodes gave him a shot at the title during Bash in Berlin. While the heel turn didn’t take place at Bash in Berlin it certainly did after Bad Blood went off the air. Cody Rhodes’ alliance with Roman Reigns gave Owens all the reason he needed to go after him. So, after Rhodes came backstage following his tag team match with Roman Reigns, he was confronted by Kevin Owens.
While the dialogue between the two was inaudible, their body language made it clear that Owens was not happy with Rhodes.Cody bent down to pick up his title and Owens immediately met him with a punch to the face. A brawl broke out and Cody was overwhelmed leading to a one sided victory.
Now, a few days after the event, Cody Rhodes has finally broken his silence on the situation. Let’s take a look at what he had to say during his conversation with Manchester Evening News:
“I’d be foolish to try and tell you anything different because the entire video exists online and you can see every inch of it. I’ll try and keep my remarks short in terms of how I feel but I will tell you this. It’s a very passionate industry, everybody wants the north star of our business which is the WWE championship and the championship that I hold at this time.”

What will become of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ relationship following Bad Blood 2024
Triple H has already commented on the situation and has made it known that the incident will be dealt with internally. But, that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see their rivalry unfold right in front of our eyes. Cody Rhodes has already lost one friend in Kevin Owens and depending on how things play out, Randy Orton could very easily be the next in line.
Now that Rhodes finally has another rivalry in WWE, he’ll be able to cut himself away from The Bloodline story and leave Roman Reigns and his brothers to sort out their mess. Despite being attacked by Kevin, Rhodes was delighted about how Bad Blood went.
He even stated that the event made him feel like the Road To WrestleMania had started early this year. Regardless of what people think about it, Kevin Owens’ heel turn will surely result in a ton of interesting moments over the coming weeks.
