DEHRADUN: A current serving Colonel was booked on Saturday for allegedly raping his domestic worker during his posting in Dehradun in 2015. The case was filed following a court order.
A police officer said that the crime purportedly took place when the officer’s family was away. “As per the woman’s complaint, he pretended to have a headache and asked her to apply balm on his head after taking her to his room where he violated her.He also threatened her to remain quiet. She left the job and returned home to Ambala,” the officer added.
The woman, who remained silent about her ordeal, coincidentally met the Colonel’s wife last September in Dehradun. She narrated the entire matter to the wife who told her to approach the police. The cops initially refused to register a case and the woman, thereafter, went to court.
Clement Town SHO Deepak Dhariwal said, “A case under IPC section 376 (rape) was registered. Steps have been taken to contact the authorities in the Army to know more about his current posting and question him.”
