Sources said the Congress has decided to field senior leader Sandeep Dikshit, the son of former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, in a direct fight against AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal
Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will go up against the son of another former chief minister in the assembly elections slated to be held early next year. The Congress has decided to field senior leader Sandeep Dikshit in a direct fight against the AAP convener, most likely from the New Delhi constituency, sources said.
Sandeep Dikshit is the son of former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit. According to sources, his candidature received a nod from the central election committee (CEC).
But, sources said, there is no decision yet from which seat he will contest. A senior Congress leader, who is part of the CEC, said considering Dikshit’s seniority in the Delhi unit, he will likely be fielded from the New Delhi assembly constituency but no such discussion happened on Thursday.
