KOLKATA: Bengal CPM has made it clear to Congress leaders in Delhi that the party will not participate in Rahul Gandhi‘s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra if Trinamool joins it.
“It’s a battle between the communal and the communists. There is no mercy for the corrupt,” CPM state secretary Md Salim told TOI on Tuesday amid a possibility that Congress high command may invite TMC to join the yatra when it enters Bengal via Buxirhat in Cooch Behar on Jan 25.”I got an invitation from an AICC leader to join the yatra… I told him that we won’t join the yatra if Trinamool joins it,” the CPM state secretary said.
Salim’s remark came a day after Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that she felt “insulted” to see CPM controlling INDIA bloc meetings.
