Crunchyroll brings ‘The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash’ and ‘The Witch and the Beast’ anime to India | English Movie News

Crunchyroll has expanded its anime offerings in India by introducing the animated adaptations of two popular series, “The Witch and the Beast” and “The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash.”
The streaming service recently added the Indian release of “The Witch and the Beast,” based on Kōsuke Satake’s manga. The anime premiered on TBS and BS11 on January 12, with Crunchyroll hosting a world premiere screening at Anime NYC on November 17.Directed by Takayuki Hamana and featuring character designs by Hiroya Iijima, the series boasts an opening theme, “Soumonka,” performed by progressive rock band Soko ni Naru, and an ending theme, “Hikari no Trill,” performed by Yoshino Nanjō.
Simultaneously, Crunchyroll also launched the Indian streaming of “The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash,” adapted from the light novel series by Honobonoru500 and Nama.
The anime, which premiered on Tokyo MX and BS Asahi on January 12, with an ABC TV broadcast on January 13, held an early screening event for its first three episodes on November 23 at the Science Museum in Tokyo. Directed by Naoki Horiuchi and with Shigeyasu Yamauchi serving as supervising director, the series features an ending theme, “because,” performed by Tei.
Both series have generated considerable excitement among Indian anime enthusiasts. “The Witch and the Beast” originally debuted in Kodansha’s Young Magazine the 3rd in November 2016 and later transitioned to Monthly Young Magazine in 2021. Although the manga went on hiatus in January 2023, Kodansha USA Publishing has been releasing English versions, with the 10th volume hitting shelves in February 2023.
Meanwhile, “The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash” first appeared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in November 2018, where it continues to captivate readers. TO Books started publishing the series in print in November 2019, and the latest novel volume, the ninth in the series, was released on June 10. Seven Seas Entertainment also contributed to the English-language availability by publishing the fifth novel volume on December 26.
With these latest additions to Crunchyroll’s repertoire, Indian anime fans have even more reason to celebrate the diverse and expanding world of animated entertainment.
