On Sunday, New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams had a career performance that will be remembered for years to come. Not only did he deliver a dominant performance on the field, but he also etched his name into NFL history, reaching a new career milestone that further cements his place among some elites.

His touchdown catches against Jacksonville moved Adams into such elite company as have attained this impressive feat. But that was quite a remarkable feat. Adams got a second touchdown in the same game, moving him to ninth place in career touchdown receptions. Adams, in the process, passed two Hall of Fame-wide receivers, Tim Brown and Steve Largent.
After his second score, Adams darted past the famed tandem, briefly tying Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans at 101 career TD receptions before quickly regaining the spot by catching two touchdowns of his own to firmly stake his claim for ninth place. Now, however, Adams sits comfortably at 10th on the incredible career list.
But the rise of Adams doesn’t stop at just one touchdown scored. With 81 touchdowns caught from Aaron Rodgers (including postseason), Adams has surpassed the Pittsburgh Steelers by establishing him for fourth on the NFL’s all-time list of QB-WR touchdown combinations, with Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown. This is an impressive feat that only gives us th idea of further strength in Adams’ partnership with Rodgers.
Adams played a brilliant game against the Jaguars, hauling in nine passes for 198 yards with two touchdowns, all coming in the second half, part of a very hard-earned Jets win. For needs he showed all his skills in a single-game performance gold of contribution to team success and making history not only for himself.
After the game, Adams’ wife, Devanne (nee Villareal), shared a beautiful message on Instagram, showing her pride in her husband’s incredible achievement. She posted a story with the caption, “Proud,” reflecting the joy and admiration she feels for Adams’ accomplishments.
“It was good to be able to get in there,” Adams said of reaching the milestone. “My teammates were gassing me up all week about it. I think they were probably more excited about it than I was, which is obviously a great thing.”
