Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar said the Government had called for tenders for decorative lighting on metro pillars and key heritage buildings in the city, under the Brand Bengaluru initiative.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of a permanent facility to illuminate the Vidhana Soudha on Sunday.
“We have identified a total of 40 places in the city, all government assets to put up decorative lighting. Tenders have already been called,” he said.
He also said that a tender to replace all existing streetlights with LED lights had failed and a new tender would be issued soon.
