NEW DELHI: The lieutenant governor of Delhi, V K Saxena, on Friday ordered a probe by the anti-corruption branch into Aam Aadmi Party‘s allegations of attempts by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to poach its candidates.
This move came after BJP wrote a letter to LG seeking an investigation into Kejriwal’s allegations and register FIR. He called the allegations made by AAP chief “very serious in nature.”
Earlier on Thursday, Kejriwal accused BJP of poaching 16 AAP candidates by promising ministerial positions and offering Rs 15 crore each if they switched sides.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and other leaders also made similar allegations.
BJP’s letter to Delhi LG
Vishnu Mittal, general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, on Friday wrote a letter to LG and said, “I would like to bring to your kind notice that Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh have made serious allegations of corruption vide his tweet posted on X on Feb 6 that seven MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have received phone call from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership and they have been offered Rs 15,00,00,000/- each for quitting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”
Mittal in his letter levelled up allegations against former Delhi chief minister and said he is trying to “create panic and situation of unrest” in the national capital amid elections.
Kejriwal ‘trying to create panic and situation of unrest in Delhi’
“The allegations levelled by Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh are very serious in nature and call for serious and immediate investigation into his allegations as he has not furnished any proof or evidence to substantiate the fact that who all received phone calls and from which number and details of the said individual who contacted them. It is to be noted that assembly elections have just concluded two days back and by spreading such false and misleading information, he is trying to create panic and situation of unrest in Delhi,” he added in his letter.

He further urged the LG to “direct to anti-corruption Bureau and any other investigating Agency for registration of an FIR and detailed investigation to be done regarding offer of bribery of Rs 15 Crore to the sitting 7 MLAs of AAP as alleged aforesaid by the above named leaders.”
The BJP leader added that Kejriwal and Singh “should be summoned and detailed enquiry be done with regard to the details of the person who contacted MLAs and the mode and medium of contact et al.needs to be investigated to unearth the truth.”
AAP meet ahead of Delhi assembly election results
Meanwhile, AAP leaders held a meeting with Kejriwal at his residence ahead of the Delhi assembly election results. Talking about the meeting, Sanjay Singh said, “Let the meeting begin…The agenda is that we have to win tomorrow with a thumping majority.”
