Tech billionaire Elon Musk has said that it is possible for his company, SpaceX, to transport passengers between major cities in under an hour using its Starship rocket during the Trump administration.
Musk made this claim while responding to a video posted by user @ajtourvillevideo on X (formerly Twitter) on November 6. The user suggested that SpaceX could receive approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Starship Earth-to-Earth flights within a few years, during the Trump administration. The video said: “Most long-distance trips in less than 30 minutes. Anywhere on Earth in under an hour.”
Reacting to the video, Musk said, “This is now possible.”

SpaceX envisions a system where Starship travels “parallel” with Earth after launching into orbit, enabling rapid transit between distant cities.
According to a Daily Mail report, SpaceX claims travel times could be as short as 24 minutes between Los Angeles and Toronto, 29 minutes between London and New York, and 30 minutes between Delhi and San Francisco. Passengers would experience G-forces during takeoff and landing and would need to remain buckled during the low-gravity flight.
The Starship, a 395-foot spacecraft made of stainless steel, would be capable of carrying up to 1,000 passengers. The concept was first introduced by SpaceX nearly a decade ago.
Several X users expressed their appreciation for Elon Musk’s efforts in the platform’s comment section. One user thanked Musk, linking his work to a broader political sentiment, saying, “America is in love with Trump’s team. We can begin to restore and grow like we deserve!” Other users focused on Musk’s innovation and future endeavors, commenting, “Awesome, always keep innovating for the future, and if you ever have some time, hit me up—I have some crazy ideas.” Another comment inquired about the possibility of a SpaceX Initial Public Offering, asking, “Chance of @SpaceX IPO in the next 4 years is also high now?”
US President-elect Donald Trump recently announced that Musk, along with American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) in his administration.
