A day after the Kerala High Court Registrar received a hoax email bomb threat, the office of the deputy explosives commissioner at Kendriya Bhavan in Kakkanad received a similar threat on Wednesday (April 23, 2025).
The threatening mail from the same email ID (Madras Tiger) as the one from which the threat to the High Court was also received was delivered to the deputy explosive commissioner, who noticed it on opening his inbox on reaching the office around 9 a.m. He promptly alerted the Thrikkakara police, who rushed to the spot with the bomb detection and disposal squad and the dog squad on their toes.
The mail warned of placing explosive devices in the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), Ernakulam.
The police team, which “are more or less certain that it was a hoax threat” are not leaving anything to chance and carrying out a search operation, said a senior police officer.
