NEW DELHI: Nirmala Singh, a Sub-Inspector in the Delhi Police, has showcased remarkable determination and ambition by successfully qualifying for the prestigious Delhi Judicial Services (DJS) examination while balancing her full-time duties within the police force.
Singh’s journey exemplifies perseverance and grit. Despite the demanding nature of her role as a Sub-Inspector, she pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Delhi University, attending classes in the evenings after long and arduous days of work in police stations like Sagarpur and Govindpuri, known for their high crime rates in the capital.
Her dedication to her studies was unwavering, even in the face of the unpredictable and sometimes grueling hours demanded by her duties as an investigation officer.Early morning court appearances and late-night investigations did not deter Singh from attending her LL.B classes at the North Campus of Delhi University, situated across the city from her jurisdiction.
Singh’s commitment to her education paid off as she graduated with flying colors, securing a first division in her LL.B degree. Her achievement is particularly notable as she becomes only the third known member of the Delhi Police to qualify for the esteemed Delhi Judicial Services while actively serving in the force.
In reflecting on her journey, Singh remarked, “It was not easy to juggle work and studies, but my determination kept me going. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and family, whose encouragement propelled me forward during the toughest moments.”
