It was a fair Sunday for Devara: Part 1 (Hindi) as Rs. 4.20 crores came in. Yet again, growth from Saturday to Sunday was limited, though this time it wasn’t surprising since after that Thursday drop, the numbers have moved just incrementally from Friday onwards and not jumped in a major way. It has been a regular growth ever since and that’s lesser when compared to the kind of jumps that ultra successful films usually take.
Still, the numbers in the Hindi version are holding up better than the Telugu version. Of course, the original version had taken a much bigger start and that’s what ensured that Rs. 100 crores were quite comfortably crossed in quick time there. In comparison, the Hindi version won’t quite enter the Rs. 100 Crores Club though it would be vying somewhere around Rs. 70-72 crores eventually. That would be a decent enough score for the film and can actually be called as good if one considers the fact that there was hardly any promotion or marketing for the dubbed version, even though it was being pitched as a Pan-India film. It could well have wrapped up in that Rs. 30-40 crores range but will now do double, which is good enough.
So far, the film has Rs. 58.47 crores and will get into that Rs. 63-64 crores range by the time the second week comes to a close. Post that there is Tamil biggie Vettaiyan and then Bollywood’s Jigra coming as well on Friday and those will become the first choice of the audiences. However, a Rs. 70 crores lifetime is still there for the taking.
