Born on July 22, 1970, Fadnavis received his early education in Nagpur. He later obtained a law degree (LLB) from Nagpur University in 1992. Fadnavis’ political career has been both active and influential. Beginning in 1992, he served as a ward councillor in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation until 2001. During this period, he also held the position of Mayor of Nagpur from 1997 to 2001. Fadnavis’ influence extended to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, where he was elected as a member for five consecutive terms, starting in 1999.
He later served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 2014 to 2019. Subsequently, he was the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly from 2019 to 2022. He also held the position of Deputy Chief Minister in the Maharashtra Government.
Devendra Fadnavis’s political journey began in 1989 as a ward convenor. By 1992, he ascended to the position of president of the Nagpur city Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. His career progressed with appointments as state vice-president in 1994 and national vice-president in 2001.
