Prosenjit Chatterjee is all set to return to the big screen in a larger-than-life avatar this festive season with Devi Chowdhurani, a period drama mounted on an ambitious scale. After earning praise for his most recent performance in Maalik, the veteran actor steps into a striking new role in a film that reimagines Bengal’s revolutionary past through a global lens.Directed by Subhrajit Mitra and based on Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay’s iconic novel, Devi Chowdhurani delves into the story of India’s first female freedom fighter.
