He declared with pride, “Punjabiiii aaa gyeee oyeeee (Punjabi’s have arrived),” celebrating the achievement.
Dosanjh’s performance lived up to the hype. He delivered electrifying renditions of his popular tracks, ‘G.O.A.T’ and ‘Born To Shine’, captivating the audience with his energy and stage presence. The performances were widely shared on social media by both Dosanjh and Jimmy Fallon, further amplifying the singer’s global reach. Questlove, who leads the band The Roots, called his performance Top 5 of all time.
in a powerful twist, he altered the lyrics of ‘G.O.A.T’, replacing the original reference to Bollywood and Khans with “Hollywood vich jine stars hai unade vich baitha sardar goriye” (referring to a Punjabi man sitting amongst Hollywood stars).
After his electrifying set, he paused for a moment before delivering the line “Mein hoon Punjab” (I am Punjab) from the song ‘Ishq Mitaaye’ from his film Amar Singh Chamkila. This final touch resonated deeply with his fans, solidifying his connection to his Punjabi identity.
On the work front, Diljit Dosanjh’s Jatt and Juliet 3, hitting theatres on June 27th, is highly anticipated by fans as it marks his reunion with Neeru Bajwa.
