Diljit Dosanjh, who has left audiences in India and internationally impressed with his Dil-Luminati Tour, is all set for another power-packed performance. The Punjabi musician won hearts last year as Amar Singh Chamkila in the Imtiaz Ali – Netflix film. Now, he is all set for another biopic! This time he will play the intense role of Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Kalra in Punjab ’95.

On Saturday, Diljit Dosanjh took to his Instagram page to share impactful photos from the sets of Punjab ’95 which has definitely left fans shocked. The photo features Diljit in a completely wounded avatar where he is seen sustaining multiple injuries on the face. Furthermore, the final photo of the post showcases his role as a father from the film where he is seen posing with his onscreen kids. The actor captioned these photos saying, “I Challenge the Darkness” as he added the film’s name Punjab ’95.

Reacting to the photos, many fans appreciated the dedication and sincerity Dosanjh showcased towards portraying the character. “Oh Waheguru”, “You are an inspiration”, “You win hearts not money”, “Diljit Dosanjh is real emotion” were some of the comments shared by fans on the past as many also went on to showcase their love and respect by dropping hearts and folded hands emojis.

About Punjab ’95 and Jaswant Singh Kalra

Jaswant Singh Kalra was a prominent Sikh human rights activist and garnered global attention for his research concerning 25,000 illegal killings and cremations involving the Punjab police, and that the police had even killed about 2,000 police officers who refused to cooperate. Directed by Bhaumikkumar Prakashbhai, Prajapati, Honey Trehan, and Vishal Srivastava, Punjab ’95 promises to pay tribute to Kalra, tracing his journey from a bank employee to an international human rights activist.
