BENGALURU: Namma Metro passengers faced hardships on Saturday morning after train services were suspended between Baiyyappanahalli and M G Road stations due to power supply failure.
Hundreds of passengers were stranded at the metro stations after a technical snag was detected at Indiranagar Metro station at around 9.30am. The officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said that train services will be suspended for one hour between M G Road and Baiyappanahalli of the purple line.
Executive director (operations and maintenance) Shankar A S told ToI that power supply to the third rail system failed resulting in disruption of train services. “Our staff are on job to restore power supply and resume services,” he said.
At Indiranagar metro station, metro passengers were seen arguing with the metro staff for not providing proper communication on restoration of services and demanded fare reimbursement.
