NEW DELHI: Manish Tripathi, the designer of the outfit adorned by the Ram Lalla idol in the newly constructed temple in Ayodhya, revealed that his divine connection with the deity played a crucial role in accomplishing the task.
Tripathi spoke to news agency PTI and explained that the outfit was made from a pitambari cloth, a special yellow fabric prepared for the lord in Kashi (Varanasi), along with silk and gold and silver wires.The embroidery on the outfit features Vaishnavite symbols.
When asked about the challenges faced during the conceptualization and creation of the outfit, Tripathi said, “The biggest challenge was prepare a cloth which suits the grandeur of a prince and a god. I prayed to god to show me the way and he showed me signs and gave wisdom so that I could prepare apt clothing for him.”
Tripathi, a young designer who hails from Lucknow, also mentioned that it was a challenge to meet the expectations of devotees who had been eagerly awaiting the construction of the temple for over 500 years. He shared his pride in receiving appreciation from everyone, particularly his mother and wife, who complemented the outfit with smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes.
