Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday appealed to his party workers and followers not to celebrate his birthday (May 15) in view of the tension at the border.
“I am not in town on May 15 and I appeal to all not to visit my residence or office to wish me. I request everyone to respect my sentiment and not misconstrue my intentions given the situation at our border,” the statement said in a statement made before ceasefire was declared.
He also appealed to the party leaders, party workers, followers and fans not to put up flexes, banners, hoardings or advertisements on May 15.
