NEW DELHI: Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri rejected claims by senior AAP leader Atishi, saying that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) does not have ‘vacancy for a political activist like Atishi.’
“At a time when the entire Aam Aadmi Party is embroiled in the liquor scam, we will not create trouble for ourselves by accepting her in our party,” the Union minister asserted.
Earlier in the morning Atishi claimed that she was approached by a ‘very close’ person to join the BJP or be prepared to be arrested by the ED.
“I was approached by the BJP through a person very close to me who asked me to join the BJP to save and enhance my political career. Or I will be arrested within a month,” the AAP leader said at a press conference.
“I was told, there will be ED raid on my house, there will be ED raid on the houses of my family members and relatives,” she alleged.
Atishi also claimed that after the arrest of the senior leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party, preparations were being made to arrest more AAP leaders.
“After these four leaders, now there are preparations to arrest four more leaders – I am Saurabh Bhardwaj, Raghav Chaddha and Durgesh Pathak,” she said.
Calling herself an ‘aide’ of Bhagat singh, Atishi also issued a warning to BJP, saying that ‘we will not be scared.’
“I want to tell the BJP that we will not be scared of you. We are the soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal. We are aides of Bhagat Singh. We will continue to save the Constitution and will work to give the people a better life under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal,” she said.
Earlier on Tuesday the Supreme court granted bail to AAP MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the excise policy case based on a concession given by the Enforcement Directorate.
