NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday issued a fresh summons to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in excise policy case. The AAP chief has been told to appear before the central probe agency on Friday.
This is the fifth summons issued to Kejriwal.
He failed to appear before the probe agency on previous occasions.
The ED had issued a fourth summons to Kejriwal on January 13, asking him to appear before it on January 18.
The Delhi CM, as expected, defied it and instead left for Goa to take stock of preparations for Lok Sabha polls.
AAP at that time justified the CM continuing to elude the ED team working on the case of alleged money laundering linked to the scam, saying the summonses marked political vendetta and were meant to prevent him from campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls, adding that a plot was afoot to arrest the party boss.
