Rudrapur: The North-Eastern Railways has introduced mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) trains on the Ramnagar-Moradabad track, replacing diesel-powered trains to mitigate environmental pollution while reducing operational costs and travel time for passengers. Under this initiative, a slew of new train services have been introduced for the Ramnagar-Moradabad and Kashipur routes in Udham Singh Nagar district.
Rajendra Singh, public relations officer of Izzatnagar North-Eastern Railway, said, “By converting diesel trains to electric MEMU trains, we are not only improving environmental conditions but also saving time and money.”
A range of new train services has been introduced, including the 05368 Ramnagar-Moradabad, 05367 Moradabad-Ramnagar, 05366 Ramnagar-Moradabad, 05334 Moradabad-Ramnagar, 05333 Ramnagar-Moradabad, 05353 Moradabad-Kashipur, 05354 Kashipur-Moradabad, and 05365 Moradabad-Kashipur, all now operated by electric MEMU trains. Additionally, the conversion of train services 05351 Bareilly city-Kashipur, and 05352 Kashipur-Bareilly city DEMU to MEMU will further contribute to efficiency and sustainability.
