The State’s entrance examination for engineering courses, Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM), got under way across 185 examination centres on Wednesday.
According to the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the first day marked an attendance rate of 82.37%. As many as 97,759 students had registered for the engineering entrance test.
Arrangements had been made to conduct the examination on computer-based tests in the State and in Dubai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
The pharmacy entrance examination is set to be held in two sessions on Thursday. The engineering entrance test for the remaining candidates will be conducted from April 25 to 29.
Official sources pointed out that the examination proceeded smoothly without any technical glitches. Government and self-financing engineering colleges, and private computer laboratories were chosen for the annual examination.
