Epic Games Store on iOS and Android: Launch date and game selection

The company took to its official X handle and posted, “We’re coming to iOS and Android! Same fair terms will be available to all developers on a true multi-platform store, with amazing games for everyone.”

The launch date for Epic Games Store’s mobile version is expected to be sometime around “later this year.” While more details regarding the lineup of games remain haven’t been disclosed, it could be expected that popular titles like Fortnite will be among them.
Although the Epic Games Store’s X post has showcased games like Rocket Racing, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Postparty, it’s possible that these visuals represent concepts, and the final game lineup may differ.
Epic Games has long harboured plans to introduce its store to iPhones and iPads in the case of Apple devices. The company took the opportunity with the launch of iOS 17.4, which introduced support for third-party app stores, courtesy of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). However, this functionality is currently available to users within the European Union due to regulatory constraints. Consequently, while the Epic Games Store is set to debut on iOS, it won’t be accessible to users outside the covered regions.
Earlier this month, a dispute between Apple and Epic Games regarding licensing agreements led to the temporary suspension and eventual restoration of Epic Games’ developer account by Apple. This conflict primarily revolved around the availability of Fortnite on the App Store within Europe.
