Craig Macrae, a distinguished action director and stunt coordinator with over two decades of experience, has made a mark in both Hollywood and Bollywood. He worked on Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) as a stunt double and performer and in Bollywood, he has served as an action director in Pathaan (2023), Jawan (2023), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), Sky Force (2025), etc. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, he spoke about the enormous feedback he got for the aerial action thriller Sky Force and his experience of working with Akshay Kumar.

Craig Macrae began by saying, “The feedback for Sky Force has been really positive. I am happy that people are enjoying what we put out there. It’s been very well received.”
He is also all praise for its lead actor Akshay Kumar, “Akshay is one of those actors who picks up on things very quickly. He has years and years of experience. Hence, he’s very good at imbibing fight choreography notes, that too very fast. That’s a very impressive quality.”
Interestingly, Sky Force was his second film with Akshay Kumar. He earlier collaborated with the dashing star in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM), which also co-starred Tiger Shroff.
Craig Macrae revealed, “(Like Pathaan and Jawan), BMCM was also one of those wild rides. We went all over the world shooting in different locations. We shot the studio scenes in Mumbai and then travelled to Scotland, the UAE, etc. We did a lot of action practically (with minimal VFX usage). All the chase scenes underground and up on the streets were shot in real locations in London, with a few scenes being shot in a Mumbai studio.
He continued, “Tiger Shroff, meanwhile, is physically very, very gifted. He works very hard on his craft. For us, it was a breeze working with him as he has a lot of skills to offer. Hence, we use a lot of his existing skills. He would even suggest to us that he could do this flip or this kick. Then, we would integrate that into our choreography. This made the process quite fun as well as collaborative.”
