While Stree 2 made waves at the box office with characters receiving much love, Aparshakti Khurana who too is a essential part of the franchise as Bittu was missed by audience, as the actor rightly puts it. Many audiences claimed that the actor’s screen presence was lower compared to other loved characters in the movie which not only includes Vicky aka Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor aka unknown woman or Abhishek Banerjee aka Jana but also Khurana. Responding to the question in an exclusive session with Bollywood Hungama, the actor asserted that he never felt that way.

“I did not feel that way. You need to understand that it was the writer’s vision. In the film, apart from the five of us, there were four more characters – Anya, Tamanna, Varun, Akshay Sir. The writer has to write in his flow. You cannot say add this or that. That defeats the purpose of filmmaking in itself. Then we wouldn’t have got the numbers we did get. Secondly, I also feel it is because I appeared a lot in the first half but not in the second half but people go back home with the second half,” he told Bollywood Hungama. “In fact, if you look at it, it is compliment for me since the audience were missing me,” he added with a smile.
In the same interview, he also addressed the question of whether he had any inhibitions playing ‘the friend’s’ role in Stree 2. “In real life I am people’s friend and well-wisher. I wish the best for all my colleagues and friends. So, in real life I am a friend of someone right? It is difficult to do (such a role) because of your positioning. But Stree had given so much love, so many memories, and made so many special relationships that you will never feel off about going to the set,” he shared. “Before going to the set, Amar had called and he said, ‘Apar, I want my Bittu back for the next two months’. It was just a simple communication from a director to an actor. That really solves everything as it sets the right pitch,” he asserted.
