Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira manifests her feelings in a notebook, Armaan gets surprised
Falaq also speaks about being typecast in the industry and how she also faced it. She has been part of some great mythological shows like RadhaKrishn, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.
She adds,”Unfortunately, there’s a big problem in our industry. If you take on a particular role, like the one I did, people start thinking that’s the only kind of character you can play every day. But it’s not true that just because I played a certain character, you shouldn’t give me a chance to portray something different. This is a significant drawback in our industry unless actors actively present themselves differently. Like on social media, where people show various aspects of themselves. Over the past three years, I’ve learned that being typecast is a bad thing in our industry. Keeping oneself confined to a single character is also wrong. You should keep experimenting with your characters, looks, and personality. These things are crucial because once you get typecast as an actor, it’s tough to break free. It took me three years to move away from mythological characters. Some people still think I have a divine face, but it’s not true. I have big, lovely eyes, but it doesn’t mean I can only play divine roles. Give me a different character, let me dive into it, and you’ll see me in a new light.“
Sharing her goals for 2024, Falaq says,”My goals for 2024 are to do a lot of good work, and I’m waiting for that moment when I get a job that truly matches my style. I want to go to the set happily, put my heart into my work, and make 2024 a great year career-wise.”
