NEW DELHI: Amid chanting of hymns and vedic mantras, the historic Pran Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Ram Lalla was held at the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya temple during the Mool Muhurat on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, designated the chief yajman by the temple trust, led the rituals and unveiled the beautiful Ram Lalla idol adorned in gold and yellow.

“The consecration of idol of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya is an extraordinary and emotional moment,” the Prime Minister said after leading the rituals.

The Prime Minister said that it is a matter of great privilege to be a part of this divine programme.
Earlier, the Prime Minister walked inside the temple premises with a silver ‘chattar’ (umbrella) placed on a red folded dupatta.
Dressed in a golden kurta teamed up with a cream dhoti and patka, he took ‘sankalp’ for the “pran pratishtha ceremony” and later moved to the sanctum sanctorum for the rituals.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the ceremony being held at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
