Amid speculations about the local body elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived at Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s residence, Shivtirth, in Shivaji Park on Monday.

This is Fadnavis’ first meeting with Thackeray since taking over as Chief Minister again in December last year.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme at the Bharat Scout and Guide Hall, Shivaji Park.

The meeting between Fadnavis and Thackeray is speculated to be focussed on the upcoming BMC elections.

All parties are preparing for the local body polls, including the MNS. The party chief had recently held a meeting with MNS officials in which he instructed them to expand the party’s reach.

Thackeray had reportedly made sharp remarks regarding the Assembly poll results in the state and expressed doubts about them.

The agenda of the meeting between Fadnavis and Thackeray, is, however, not clear but is speculated to revolve around the BMC elections.
