DEHRADUN: The Election Commission unveiled the final voter list for Uttarakhand on Monday. The state boasts 82.4 lakh general electors and 93,524 service voters, set to cast their votes at 11,729 polling stations across the Himalayan region. In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election, 1.2 lakh first-time voters, along with 69,974 specially-abled voters, will play a crucial role.Notably, 1,411 voters in the state are aged 100 years or above.
Chief electoral officer V Shanmugam, while presenting the data, said among the 82.4 lakh voters, 42.7 lakh are male, 39.7 lakh are female, and 286 are third gender voters. Of the 93,357 service voters, 90,763 are male, and 2,594 are female.
Dehradun leads with 15 lakh voters, followed by Haridwar with 14.5 lakh and Udham Singh Nagar with 13 lakh. Rudraprayag, with 1.9 lakh voters, holds the record for the lowest number in all districts. Champawat has 2 lakh voters, Bageshwar has 2.1 lakh, Uttarkashi 2.4 lakh, and Chamoli 2.9 lakh.
The 11,729 polling stations across Uttarakhand include 3,461 in urban areas and 8,268 in rural pockets.
Age-wise, the state has 16.5 lakh voters aged 20 to 29, 22 lakh in the 30-39 age group, 17 lakh in the 40-49 age group, 12 lakh in the 50-59 age group, 7.5 lakh in the 60-69 age group, 4 lakh in the 70-79 age group, and 1.5 lakh aged 80 years and above.
Under the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, the state has 69,974 voters, with the highest numbers in Udham Singh Nagar (6,907), followed by Dehradun (5,966) and Haridwar (5,795).
