Panaji/Vasco: After an FIR was registered at Panaji police station against activist Rama Kankonkar for hurting religious sentiments, an FIR against Xencor Polgi, also an activist, was registered on a similar charge at Vasco police station, on Thursday.
“We demand action against Polgi for his hurtful statements against Swamiji, who is a world spiritual leader. Instead of spreading hatred among people, he should spread the message of peace, love and harmony,” said Vasco resident Shashikant Kerkar, in a press statement.
Devotees of Tabobhoomi mutt, Kundaim, and followers of Padma Shri Swami Brahmeshanand had filed a complaint against Kankonkar on Wednesday evening. People had come to the Panaji police station in big numbers demanding his expulsion from Goa.
At Porvorim police station, an FIR has been registered against Suraj Arondekar from Canca for making derogatory statement against Swami Brahmeshanand. Arondekar was called to the police station for questioning at 5pm, but he didn’t turn up, police said.
