Manbir Bedi, founder of Reading Torch, has introduced the first screen-free coding lab at Lotus Valley International School in Gurgaon. Designed for primary school students, this lab teaches coding without computers, instead using augmented reality (AR) coding games and unplugged activities.
“This approach shifts coding education away from screens, addressing concerns about screen time for young students. With hands-on coding activities and games, students learn coding concepts in a practical setting, helping them connect programming ideas with real-world applications,” Bedi said.
It offers a curriculum aligned with educational standards that progressively introduce coding concepts, focusing on building critical thinking and problem-solving skills in young learners.
