The Tiruchendur police have arrested five persons for possession of 4 kg of ganja in their car.
Following a tip off, the Tiruchendur police had taken up checking of vehicles near the Shanmugapuram Railway Gate. They stopped a car and searched it. The police found 4 kg of ganja in the vehicle.
The accused were identified as A. Chellathurai, 26, and B. Kannan, 34, from Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district, M. Subburaj, 25, M. Marilingam, 24, and M. Vallivinayagam, 24, from TMB Colony in Thoothukudi district.
