Four members of family were killed and another was injured in an accident at Noolvi cross, near Hubballi, on Sunday.
The accident occurred when the car by which the family was travelling from Haveri hit the retaining wall on the road.
Those who were killed were identified as Sujata Hiremath, 60, Gayatri Mahantimath, 67, Sampath Kumari, 68, and Shakuntala Hiremath, 72.
They were going home after a family function, the police said. Veeresh Hiremath, who was injured, has been admitted to the KMC RC hospital. A case has been registered.
