Delhi Polls: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday unveiled the party’s manifesto for the Delhi Assembly polls, and vowed to provide free bus rides to male students, free study abroad for SC-ST students, and monthly aid to women among other “guarantees”.

In the manifesto titled “Kejriwal Ki Guarantee”, the AAP supremo listed out 15-point promises that he said he would fulfill if his party manages to retain power in Delhi which is all set for a heated election.

Accusing the BJP of copying AAP’s promise-based governance, the former Delhi CM said that it was AAP that first coined the term ‘guarantee’. “After us, the BJP stole it, but the difference is, we fulfill our guarantees, and they do not,” he said.

Kejriwal’s 15-Point Guarantees

  1. Fix the problem of unemployment
  2. Mahila Samman Yojana (rs 2,100 to every woman every month)
  3. ⁠Sanjeevani Yojana (free medical services to all citizens above 60 years at both government and private hospitals)
  4. Waive off wrong inflated water bills
  5. 24×7 clean drinking water in all households in Delhi
  6. Clean Yamuna
  7. Roads to be made and maintained as per “European standards”
  8. Dr Ambedkar Scholarsip Yojana (Delhi government to fund higher education at foreign universities for all Dalit students)
  9. ⁠Free bus travel for all students. 50% concession on metro fares
  10. ⁠Pujari and Granthi Yojana: Rs 18,000 per month to all Pujaris and granthis
  11. Free electricity and free water scheme to extend to tenants
  12. All blocked and old sewage lines to be replaced
  13. Ration Card: The Delhi government will open the window to get new ration cards
  14. ⁠Financial aid of Rs 1 lakh for daughters’ wedding. Free coaching to their children. Rs 10 lakh life insurance and Rs 5 lakh accident insurance for all Autowallas and E-rickshaw pullers
  15. RWAs to be given special funds to appoint and maintain independent security guards

Kejriwal said that the AAP’s existing free welfare schemes would continue if the party retains power.

“The BJP has already made it clear that they will stop all these schemes if they come to power. I want to ask the people of Delhi — will you be able to bear the cost if the BJP stops these benefits?” he asked.

Delhi will go to Assembly polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
