After receiving over 1.5 million suggestions for its manifesto, including more than 40,000 through the NaMo app, the BJP’s manifesto this time has introduced several new schemes and also announced several improvisations to the existing schemes.
Key promises:
Health cover for senior citizens| Among the many promises, PM Modi and BJP announced the extension of health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to senior citizens above 75 years. Highlighting the financial burden of medical treatment on the elderly, especially the middle class, PM Modi assured that every individual above 75 would benefit from the scheme.
Mudra loan expansion| Furthermore, the BJP has promised to raise the loan limit under the MUDRA Yojana from Rs 10 Lakhs to Rs 20 Lakhs, aiming to bolster the ecosystem for Industry 4.0.
Ayushman cover for transgender community| Inclusivity was also touched upon as the BJP committed to bringing the transgender community under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Free electricity| PM Modi said under the under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana ,BJP will work towards reducing the electricity bills of crores of families to zero.
Free ration scheme| PM Modi and the BJP also has guaranteed that the free ration scheme will continue for the next five years .
Vande Bharat expansion| In the realm of transportation, the BJP promised the expansion of Vande Bharat trains, introducing three new models – Vande Bharat Sleeper, Chaircar, and Metro. PM Modi announced plans for three additional bullet trains in different regions of the country, with ongoing progress on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route.
One nation, one election| Addressing the concept of simultaneous elections, PM Modi expressed a commitment to realising ‘One Nation, One Election.’ “We will move forward with a resolve to realise the idea of One Nation, One Election. BJP also considers the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) equally necessary in the interest of the country,” he said.
Infra development in various sectors| The BJP’s manifesto also includes plans for infrastructural development, encompassing social, digital, and physical infrastructure. Highlighting the modernisation of highways, railways, airways, and waterways, PM Modi said the expansion of the 5G network and advancements towards 6G to align with Industry 4.0.
Tribal heritage| Furthermore, the BJP’s manifesto includes initiatives to promote research on tribal heritage, with the establishment of a ‘Digital Janjatiya Kala Academy’.
Nari Shakti| Women will receive training in IT, tourism, education, healthcare, and retail sectors. Additionally, women residing in rural areas will have the opportunity to train as drone pilots through the NaMo Drone Didi Yojana.
Science| BJP also pledged Rs 1 lakh crore for Anusandhan Fund to boost scientific research in India in their manifesto.
Disaster resilience | The party plans to adopt a comprehensive approach to disaster management and enhance resilience in the Himalayan states due to the fragile ecology and increasing natural calamities in the region.
Lakhpati Didis| The ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ manifesto also promises to make 3 crore women Lakhpati Didis, up from the nearly 1 crore women who have achieved the feat.
Law on paper leaks| The manifesto promises implementation of strict law to stop misconduct in recruitment examinations in the country.
Agriculture | The BJP manifesto promises to keep increasing the MSP of crops “from time to time”. It also pledges to launch a Krishi Infrastructure Mission for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of agri-infrastructure projects as well as an indigenous Bharat Krishi satellite for farm-related activities.
