AP Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh with representatives of hotel groups at the Hotel Investments Meet in Mumbai on Thursday.
On the second day of the Hotel Investment Conference-South Asia (HICSA) at Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, along with his team, have attracted significant interest from major hotel groups, paving the way for new investments in the state.
The Ascott Group from Singapore expressed interest in introducing their Citadines hotels to tier 2 and 3 cities in the State. Accor Hotels is exploring the possibilities of setting up the Ibis-branded hotels in all district headquarters of the State, while Brigade Hotels plan to invest in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Horsley Hills, by establishing hotels of 150 rooms each.
The team also met with representatives of 15 other hotel groups including Corsendonk- a Belgian company, which is into wellness resorts, Greenpark Hotels, Fern Hotels and Resorts, Wildflower Hotels from USA, Brigade Hotels and Elena-a Wellness brand among others.
Over the two-day event, the AP team including Tourism Secretary Ajay Jain, CEO of AP Tourism Authority and Managing Director of AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Amrapali Kata and others, engaged with representatives of 45 companies and explored various business and investment opportunities in the State for tourism and hospitality.
