Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the UEFA Nations League final but narrowly missed out on the top scorer award, finishing the tournament with eight goals.
The award went to Sweden’s Viktor Gyokeres, who ended with nine goals — just ahead of the Al Nassr forward.
Gyokeres, 27, has been in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon over the past two seasons, scoring 97 goals in 102 matches and helping the club win back-to-back league titles. His performances have attracted interest from Manchester United, now managed by Sporting’s former boss Ruben Amorim.
