New York had a one-year solution in mind, with Reddick playing it out and being a free agent in 2025. The Jets had no clear win available, and Reddick is currently the only NFL player holding out.He must report in Week 13 to receive an accrued season or his contract will take a toll, and everyone will be in the same situation next year.

Haason Reddick declined one-year offer from Jets amid holdout

The Jets’ Haason Reddick situation has taken a dramatic turn as the agency representing him parted ways. This is the latest unusual event in the situation, which has become increasingly unusual. Initially, Reddick’s holdout seemed to end with a reworked one-year deal, but it all but worked out with his former agents at CAA and Jets management. The deal would have allowed Reddick to make up for the fines and earn more money than he was originally scheduled to earn.

The Jets and Reddick were considering a resolution to allow the pass rusher to play for them, earn his money back, and have a big 2024 offseason. However, Reddick declined to sign the deal, leaving the Jets to move on and hope he shows up, despite no clear win being available. Reddick has resisted a multi-year deal with the Jets, which appears to be unattractive at the moment. The Jets traded him to the Eagles for $14.25 million, and New York is considering a one-year solution. Reddick is currently the only NFL player holding out, and must report by Week 13 to receive an accrued season or face a toll on his contract next year. He could also choose to walk away from the game.
Jets owner Woody Johnson urged Reddick to attend a news conference about the firing of coach Robert Saleh. “Haason, get in your car, drive down (I)-95 and come to the New York Jets, and we can meet you and give you an escort right in the building and you’ll fit right in,” Johnson said. “You’re going to love it here and you’re going to feel welcome and you’re going to accomplish great things with us.” Johnson further added, “This is something I’ve never seen before, you know, and you’ve got even more years than I have. I don’t think any of us have seen anything like this. I think you have to be part psychologist and part some-other gist to try and figure out what is actually going on.”
