At least eight candidates from parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and one Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate, had the lowest victory margins
At least eight candidates secured victory margins of less than 2,000 votes in the Haryana assembly elections, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.
These candidates from parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and one Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate, had the lowest victory margins, while the highest margin was 98,441 votes, achieved by Congress candidate Mamman Khan from the Ferozepur Jhirka constituency.
Here is the list of candidates with the lowest victory margins:
- BJP candidate from Uchana Kalan, Devender Chatar Bhuj Attri, won against Congress’ Brijendra Singh by a margin of 32 votes.
- INLD candidate Aditya Devilal won over Congress’ Amit Sihag by a margin of 610 votes in Dabwali.
- Congress candidate Rajbir Fartia defeated BJP’s Jai Parkash Dalal by a margin of 792 votes in Loharu.
- Congress candidate Chander Parkash triumphed over BJP’s Bhavya Bishnoi by a margin of 1,268 votes in Adampur.
- Congress candidate Renu Bala won against BJP’s Balwant Singh by a margin of 1,699 votes in Sadhoura.
- BJP candidate Sunil Satpal Sangwan secured victory over Congress’ Manisha Sangwan by a margin of 1,957 votes in Dadri.
- Congress candidate Chander Mohan defeated BJP’s Gian Chand Gupta by a margin of 1,997 votes in Panchkula.
- Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Batra is currently ahead of BJP’s Manish Kumar Grover by a margin of 1,341 votes in Rohtak (counting still ongoing).
The BJP swept the 90-seat Haryana assembly elections, paving the way for a third term in government. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP has won 48 seats, surpassing the majority mark of 46 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress managed to win only 36 seats and is currently leading in one.
