Indore: Tension gripped Jaora town in MP’s Ratlam district Friday after the severed head of a calf was found dumped inside a temple there, reports Karishma Kotwal. Two persons have been arrested for the desecration.
Hundreds of people protested by blocking roads and forcing businesses to shut down. Police had to fire teargas shells to disperse the protesters.There is heavy police deployment in the town, around 155km from Indore.Ratlam additional SP Rakesh Khakha said two persons – Salman Mewati, 23, and Shakir Qureshi, 19 – have been arrested. Following the arrests, the houses of the accused were demolished by the administration. Officials said the houses were “illegally constructed”.
