“Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on Saturday (November 30, 2024), and heavy rainfall at isolated places on Sunday (December 1, 2024) under the influence of the cyclonic storm Fengal,” according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather bulletin on Saturday morning (November 30, 2024.)

“There will be light to moderate rains across north coastal Andhra Pradesh districts including Visakhapatnam as well under the influence of the remnants of the cyclone,” the IMD added.
The storm is going to cross north Tamil Nadu (border of south coastal Andhra Pradesh) and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram close to Puducherry as a storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kph gusting up to 90 kph during Saturday afternoon (November 30, 2024).
“Already, many parts of the State witnessed the rainfall activity and squally winds across the coastal areas in the State. Bheemulavaripalem of Tada mandal in Tirupati district received the State’s highest rainfall of 37 mm from 8.31 a.m. till 11 a.m.,” according to the State’s real-time weather observations.
Visakhapatnam city also started receiving rains. Nearly 5 mm of maximum rainfall was recorded during the period (8.31 a.m. to 11 a.m.) on Saturday (November 30, 2024.)
