Instagram currently offers a feature called Video Notes that allows you to share short, looping video clips of yourself within the Direct Messages section (Inbox).
Here’s how to use it:
Important Note: This feature is still under testing and might not be available to everyone yet.
1. Open the Instagram app and navigate to your Inbox by swiping left or tapping the message icon in the top right corner.
2.Look for your profile picture at the top of your message list. This represents your own Notes section.
3. Tap on your profile picture. This will open the camera interface specifically for capturing a Video Note.
Recording your Video Note:
* You can only use the front-facing camera for Video Notes.
* Hold down the record button in the center to capture your video. The recording is limited to a maximum of 2 seconds.
* You can re-record by tapping the discard button and then holding the record button again.
4. Once you’re happy with your recording, you can optionally add text using the text bubble icon at the top.
5. Tap “Share” to post your Video Note. It will appear at the top of your Notes section for 24 hours, similar to Instagram Stories.
Additional tips to keep in mind:
* You can’t upload pre-recorded videos from your gallery for Video Notes.
* Only people who can see your Direct Messages will be able to view your Video Note.
* You can control who can see your Notes by adjusting your privacy settings in Direct Messages.
