Hrithik smiled, acknowledging the love for his role as Ethan Mascarenhas, a character that required him to portray a paralyzed man with emotional depth and physical restraint—a stark departure from his usual high-energy roles.
However, Hrithik had a different answer in mind. This comes weeks after Sooraj Barjatya recalled making Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon during a chat with Mayank Shekhar of Mid-Day. For the unversed, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon was not only criticised by the audience and critics but also performed poorly at the box office. Speaking of the film, Sooraj said, “I felt guilty towards Hrithik, Abhishek, Kareena and Anu ji because they gave me everything. But while making the film, I realized that it was a film which was not me. I had to ask others ‘Yeh aapko pasand aayega kya’. I was not myself in the film. When you try to impress others, then you bring every possible thing that succeeds or that is succeeding. But ultimately it’s not you.”
