Hungary has once again angered NATO allies by maintaining ties with Russia, snubbing a Budapest meeting of NATO ambassadors and military advisers on October 30. Instead, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó attended a Belarusian security conference alongside Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has consistently refused to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and even visited Moscow to meet President Putin.
