The task force teams of Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted an inspection at the central production unit of Sodexo India in Hyderabad’s Hitec City on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) uncovering multiple hygiene violations in the facility.
During the inspection, officials found several lapses in sanitation and food safety standards. The flooring in the kitchen and grinding area was found to be patchy, and food waste was littered on the wet floors in the grinding section. Inspectors also discovered 16 kilograms of paneer packets with unclear packing dates, which were subsequently discarded.
Additionally, inadequate spacing between the wall and storage racks hindered proper cleaning, and blood from packed raw meat was found dripping inside the chiller room. Food articles stored in plastic trays were kept directly on the floor in cold storage, raising concerns about contamination. Kitchen drains were found to be clogged with accumulated food waste, and some food items were left uncovered below knee height, increasing the risk of exposure to contaminants. House fly infestation was observed in the raw material reception area, said a release.
