Star India batter Smriti Mandhana made significant gains in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, released on Tuesday, following her blistering century against England in the first T20I at Nottingham.
Mandhana’s 62-ball 112, which powered India to a commanding 97-run win, helped her climb one spot to third in the T20I rankings. She now trails only Australia’s Beth Mooney and West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, and has reached a career-best 771 rating points.
England pacer Lauren Bell also made upward movement, rising two places to a career-high fourth in the T20I bowling rankings after claiming three wickets in the same match.
India debutant Shree Charani, whose four-wicket haul played a key role in handing England its heaviest defeat in the format, broke into the rankings at 450th position.
Among other Indian players, Shafali Verma moved up one spot to 13th, while Harleen Deol re-entered the T20I rankings at No. 86 after her quickfire 23-ball 43.
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, her team’s lone bright spot with the bat, retained her ninth position in the rankings, gaining 20 rating points to reach a personal best of 663 following her 42-ball 66.
In the ODI rankings, Mandhana continues to hold the top spot, while Sciver-Brunt has slipped one place to third.
